The alpha of the Project Exporter was released to all sponsors on 10 April 2008. It is currently nearing a 1.0 release projected to happen sometime in mid-June. It is established that this will export an XML structure compatible with Microsoft Project '98-2003 and will include all of the relevant fields and data which are captured by dotProject. The entire Import -> edit -> Export process will be used to validate that all information is carried through appropriately.

As with all sponsorship effort, the relevant code will be released approximately 6 months after the official 1.0 release of the module. For their sponsorship contribution, all sponsors will receive all release candidates for testing, review, and comment.

Project Importer 3.0. (download) - Release Notes - This is the first web2project compatible release of the Project Importer. It is not compatible with dotProject and will not be.

CaseySoftware is in the process of building a complete dotProject / Mantis integration. Not all the functionality from Mantis will be duplicated, but enough to perform the basic functionality (detailed in the Technical Specification below).

We are using an identical model to that of the MS Project Importer where we will have a release candidate distributed to all project sponsors in order to evaluate and get feedback. The interaction model will be based upon the Helpdesk model which allows for a pluggable backend currently supporting both the original Helpdesk and Eventum.
